We believe that God did not intend for the church to be a social club. We believe it was intended to be an outreach to the world. Our main outreach is the propagation of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have several avenues which we believe accomplish this goal. We are always looking for opportunity for the expansion of the current ministries that we already have and for the creation of new ministries that can help us to better serve the Lord.
We endeavor to support missionary families of like faith to take the Gospel to places we may never physically go. We operate by faith promise giving. Our budget is governed by the giving commitment of the members of Sweet Home Baptist Church. We endeavor to follow the Spirit of God’s leadership and Biblical principles in the selection of the missionary families that we support.
We go into our community on a weekly basis looking for opportunity to share our faith in Jesus Christ.
We also try to keep up with those of our church that may be hindered from coming to church for their encouragement and well-being.
For those who need a ride to church on Sunday morning, we will pick you up where you can enjoy the services with us.
We have people in our church that hold a church service in a rest home facility on a monthly basis.
We have volunteers that have their blue card to go into local prisons and preach as the opportunities are provided.
Character Under Construction
One of our mission projects is the Prison Prevention Ministry of the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry. The Lord has opened doors in this day where we can teach young people in our community character traits that will help them be a blessing to society instead of a burden to society. We have volunteers who are working to change young people’s lives by teaching them what character is and how to have good character.
